Other states, including California enable qualified patients to cultivate their own cannabis while other states do not. Instead, you can avail them in a certified dispensary. In Oregon, you can get marijuana through a marijuana vending machine provided that you have a card.

MaryJane Dating Service

It’s Friday and it’s date night!!

There is a new app for mobile phones that connects marijuana users for dating. And yup, it’s called “High There.”

It’s said to be a tool for allowing cannabis users to find love. The app helps users identify other marijuana consumers who’d like to date based on there preferred methods and habits of cannabis consumption. So far, they say they have 50,000 people using their app and program only functions in states where medical and/or recreational marijuana use are legal. It’s described as both a dating and social connection tool.

It is, of course, not the first marijuana based social networking site as there are others like 420 and that offer similar services.

So go for it! Court a canna-friend online but be careful what you say in cyberspace. Police still use social media to monitor potentially illegal activity!  So be safe and have fun!!

Sarah Palin and Pot Brownies

Sarah Palin and Pot Brownies………..

5.3.10SarahPalinByDavidShankboneOn February 25th Alaska’s recreational marijuana law went into effect. The new law allows Alaskan residents to home grow up to six cannabis plants and share up to an ounce of marijuana with their friends. Residents and visitors may consume marijuana privately but will be fined $100 fine if caught consuming marijuana in public. Public places, by the way, include highways, schools, parks, hallways and lobbies.

Brownies_with_floral_painted_backgroundMeanwhile Sarah Palin’s home town of Wasilla is doing everything it can to minimize legal pot consumption in their jurisdiction. The Wasilla City Council voted to ban cannabis clubs ( they’re legal in Anchorage) and has outlawed pot brownies and other marijuana edibles made at home. Furthermore, they require that anyone smoking marijuana in their home must “cease immediately” if their pot smoking disturbs their neighbors. Meanwhile………… Sara Palin was quoted as saying marijuana is “relatively speaking [a] minor problem” during a 2010 Fox Business Network interview. Well, someone should tell that to her hometown city council………..

Republicans Go for Legalized Pot

United_States_Republican_PartyFirst Republican State to Legalize Pot

Although the ballot was passed last year it’s only yesterday that the new marijuana laws went into effect in Alaska. Now, in this Republican dominated state, adults 21 years or older may possess up to an ounce of marijuana. In addition, legal aged residents may grow up to six marijuana plants for their personal use. However, just like Colorado and Washington state, pot can be consumed only on private property with the owner’s permission.

Recreational marijuana stores have not yet opened. That is because the state has yet to set up the laws needed to regulate retail shops. The ballot initiative requires the state government to formalize rules for recreational marijuana shops by November 24th of this year. Applications for retail licenses will be considered sometime after that. Read more………
